SUCCESS STORY: GALACTEUM
Internal flow monitoring
«AllRead uses disruptive technologies to offer a flexible, scalable and future-oriented solution». Angel Pereira, Innovation Director of Galacteum.
Use case: Monitoring of internal traffic flows.
About Galacteum
Galacteum belongs to the Aira cooperative. It is the industrial arm that is responsible for the production of products through the recovery of whey from the cheese dairies or the valorisation of the same. They do this by extracting the fats and demineralising the whey to convert it into a product that is in turn an ingredient in baby food.
The company moves 45 million litres of milk per year and up to 6,000 tonnes of milk and whey powder. It is a leading manufacturer of milk and whey powder.
The problem: the control of vehicle entry and exit.
Galacteum wants to automate access control at its premises, without adding additional infrastructure, by taking advantage of existing security cameras. The challenge was to ensure that licence plate readings of light and heavy vehicles are carried out with the highest level of certainty despite distance, varying angles, movement and atmospheric conditions.
- Detection and reading of number plates from different angles.
- Preservation of images as proof of status.
- Limited impact on infrastructure and budget.
- Rapid deployment and integration with existing systems.
The solution: Plug and play software
AllRead’s deep learning-based software has minimal technical requirements to track assets with maximum accuracy. AllRead simultaneously detects and reads multiple codes and symbols from the same video stream. Starting from a single IP camera, connected to the terminal’s existing server, AllRead operates to deliver accurate, real-time results.
It offered benefits such as:
- Use existing camera infrastructure.
- Extremely accurate in extreme conditions.
- It reduces hardware costs.
- Safe automation of processes.
The results: high level of accuracy of readings
Galacteum wants to automate access control at its premises, without adding additional infrastructure, by taking advantage of existing security cameras. The challenge was to ensure that licence plate readings of light and heavy vehicles are carried out with the highest level of certainty despite distance, varying angles, movement and atmospheric conditions.
With an accuracy rate of 97.4% during the test phase, AllRead has proven its robustness with low to mid-range cameras and a variety of weather, light, dust, distance and challenging perspectives.
Agnostic to the existing hardware and information system. AllRead has been successfully installed in the existing infrastructure.
«AllRead and Galacteum automate traffic control without the need for additional hardware, using pre-installed security cameras and servers, along with plug-and-play software».
